It might happen.
And when it does, it is important to stay calm and obtain the necessary documents to bring our beloved home. These documents include,
- Death Certificate issued by country where the death occured (translation to the English language is required if native language is not)
- Cause of death certificate or statutory declaration
- Embalming Certificate
- Sealing Certificate for the casket
- Casket export permit
You will need to register the death with the Singapore Embassy where repatriation documents will be issued. There will be a consignor, who most likely will be from the overseas funeral home who will assist in the repatriation arrangements. You will then need to assign a consignee in Singapore to receive the casket or remains. The consignee will also provide assistance for all subsequent arrangements.
Give us a call and we will provide step by step guidance all the way.
